When investigating what symbiotic relationship I personally have with plants, I found that this is most evident when I am seen within a festival environment… more specifically, at a Bush Doof. 

 

An open-air environment, covered in dirt and surrounded by native plants and smells, radiates warmth and spiritual emotions within me. Bodies of all shapes and sizes, genders and sexualities from all walks of life uniting as one, celebrating the existence of life, music, performance and art. This is my tribe.

This scene is in an environment that is so natural, so pure and full of flora. A care-free lifestyle, allowing all senses; physical, emotional and mental, connecting on the grounds of our dearest, Mother Nature.

 

This relationship has inspired my design to reflect a bold, abstract and wild garment that symbolises unity and acceptance. To construct the design, native flowers such as banksia, protea, eucalyptus (thus more) are used to reflect energy, colour and spirituality. Nuts and seeds formed in intricate patterns within the design, signify  the varieties of different cultures, genders and sexualities that come from all parts of the world, who favourably participate in this open-armed tribe.
