DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

BEHIND
THE SCENES
I used a variety of different shapes and sizes of nuts to construct panels seen throughout my design. With time management being a main constraint, having only two days to produce the flower based outcome- I had to think of a method that would save me time. Days prior to the set up for the show, I individually hand hot glue gunned each nut onto layers of glad wrap which was moulded around a plastic mannequin arm. This gave me a guide on how much I needed to create and also pre-formed my panels. I split the arm panels in three sections so that it was simple when taking the cling wrap off the mannequin arm.

We had two days to construct our outcomes, prior to the show. I created a base mould made from wire which gave structure and form before I started placing my plants down. Using zip ties was a great solution to securing the wire in place. A special garden adhesive spray was my go to when placing and securing all my plants and flowers in position.
